Groathouse Construction was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the demolition of the existing NWC Student Center and constructing its’ replacement on the same site. Groathouse Construction was brought under contract very early in the design phase (conceptual) and worked closely with the State of Wyoming, Northwest College, and HCM (Design Team) to create a space that served all the desired functions, within the established funding for the project.

The construction phase began with the demolition of the existing Student Center constructed in 1966. The new facility is a two-story, 33,000 sf building with a tremendous amount of glazing and open, inviting spaces. Contained within the new facility is a commercial kitchen and dining area serving the entire community, recreation space for the students, meeting space for various student groups, office spaces for student campus life services, security, and a new outdoor recreation space, including a climbing wall. The project was completed on time, and under the established Guaranteed Maximum Price.
