Washakie Medical Center MRI Replacement & Renovation

Although the scale of this project was minimal (~1000 sf), it was highly technical in nature. The replacement of the existing MRI magnet at this location was a collaborative effort between our team, the hospital, the Design Team, and the vendor of the new magnet. Coordination between all parties in a very technical and regulated space made this project challenging.

This project first involved selective demolition of an existing window and decommissioning of the old MRI. Afterwords, our team handled both an interior renovation of the exam room finishes, as well as the installation of equipment in the adjacent mechanical room and rooftop to prepare for the new magnet. This included installation of an electrical backup unit, rooftop cooling unit, and emergency quench vent system for the MRI. Once the new magnet arrived, our team oversaw the MRI installation, replaced the window, and ensured the facility was ready for use.
